We are located in the heart of Savo, in Lapinlahti, just off Highway 5 heading north. Luova Puu – the “Creative Tree” Gallery Café is an inspiring oasis of art, culture, and wellbeing, wrapped in a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. Throughout the year, we host changing exhibitions, cultural events, and wellness experiences.
Our seasonal art café opens in the summertime and in December as a cozy Christmas Shop, offering both savory and sweet delicacies prepared with over 21 years of experience.
In addition to café delights, we organize private occasions and tailored experiences for groups all year round. The over 100-year-old Paradise Log Sauna invites you to unwind in its soft, soothing steam – and from spring to autumn, you can enhance your visit with an outdoor hot tub or bathing experience.

History shortly
Luova Puu – The Creative Tree is a truly unique and bohemian destination with deep artistic roots. It was founded in 2004 by the wood artist Raija Weisenberg, whose vision was to create a living meeting place where art, culture, and wellbeing come together. The town of Lapinlahti lovingly reconstructed the property, transforming it into Raija’s wood art studio, a gallery for changing exhibitions by local artists, a cozy café, and a handicraft boutique.
One of the most treasured features of Luova Puu is the over 100-year-old “Paradise Sauna.” This traditional Finnish log sauna has welcomed countless visitors to experience the authentic, warm, and deeply refreshing atmosphere of Finnish sauna culture – often combined with moments of relaxation in the bathing tub under the open sky.
In 2014, after a long battle with cancer, Raija Weisenberg passed away. Her creative spirit, however, lives on through her daughter Hannah Weisenberg, a ceramic artist, yoga teacher, and holistic wellbeing guide. Hannah has continued to nurture and expand her mother’s vision, weaving together art, nature, and wellness into the heart of Luova Puu.
Today, Luova Puu is much more than a gallery or café – it is a living cultural hub. During the summer season, it comes alive with workshops, exhibitions, and cultural events that bring together local artists, visitors, and the community. It is a place where creativity flows, traditions are honored, and new ideas are born.
Luova Puu welcomes you to experience this unique blend of art, wellbeing, and Finnish cultural heritage – a place where you can pause, reconnect, and be inspired.

All group visits are warmly welcome – from small gatherings to larger excursions. Whether you’re a group of 5–12 people or arriving with a bus of up to 50 guests, we are happy to tailor a unique program for you in Lapinlahti.
Your visit can include, for example:
- Yoga or soundbath with singing bowls relaxation
- A creative ceramics or painting workshop
- A cozy coffee moment by the fireplace
- An authentic Finnish sauna ritual in the Paradise Sauna
In addition, Hannah offers wonderful individual treatments such as classic massage, hot stone massage, and traditional sauna therapies.
